Understand before recommending
Consider symptoms, history, current medications, safety concerns, and personal goals before discussing a plan.
Clinical leadership
A welcoming approach to psychiatric care, guided by careful evaluation, shared decisions, and respect for the person behind every appointment.
Hughes Mohlie, PMHNP-BC, serves as Clinical Director of MoodClinics. This role centers on the clinical philosophy and organization-wide standards that guide care today and provide a foundation for future growth.
Our clinical philosophy
You do not need perfect words, a settled diagnosis, or everything figured out before asking for help. Your experiences, questions, and preferences belong in the conversation.
Our approach is warm and nonjudgmental: listen carefully, explain options in plain language, and make decisions together. A useful care plan should reflect your goals and be realistic for your everyday life.
Medication may be one part of that plan when clinically appropriate. Recommendations should include a clear discussion of expected benefits, potential risks, alternatives, and follow-up.
Standards across MoodClinics
These principles guide our approach across the organization. They provide a foundation for maintaining clinical quality as MoodClinics grows.
Consider symptoms, history, current medications, safety concerns, and personal goals before discussing a plan.
Explain care options and their limits. Invite questions and respect informed preferences throughout treatment.
Use follow-up to review response, side effects, and changing needs, and discuss referrals or a different level of care when appropriate.
Our current service focus is online outpatient psychiatric care for adults physically located in Arizona at the time of their appointment.

Rooted in Arizona
MoodClinics established
MoodClinics was established in 2013. As described in our practice history, after 2016 MoodClinics partnered with La Paz Regional Hospital to serve La Paz County through outpatient clinics in Parker and Quartzsite.
That history informs our commitment to accessible psychiatric care. Today, our service focus is adult telepsychiatry in Arizona. This historical account does not represent a claim of a current hospital affiliation.
