Safety Escalation Policy

Operator

NoTherapists is operated by MoodClinics LLC, an Arizona limited liability company, doing business as NoTherapists.

The memory rule

DISTRESS → STAY IN YOUR METHOD / BEYOND YOUR METHOD → REFER / IMMEDIATE DANGER → SAFETY FIRST. Your role is to listen, teach or train within the approved non-clinical Method.

Ordinary distress

For crying, frustration, grief, loneliness, conflict or fear without indications of immediate danger, respond calmly and respectfully within the Method. Offer a pause or the choice to stop. Do not diagnose or turn the encounter into psychotherapy.

Needs beyond the Method

When someone asks for diagnosis, medication advice or psychotherapy, describes needs clearly beyond scope, or cannot safely participate, explain the limitation: “What you are describing goes beyond what this Method is designed to address. An appropriate qualified professional may be able to help.” Offer relevant resources without requiring a particular referral. Pause or end participation when necessary for safety.

Immediate danger or medical emergency

Stop the Method. Ask only the practical questions needed to direct immediate help, such as current location and whether an immediate emergency is occurring. Contact local emergency services when warranted; encourage the person to obtain urgent assistance. In a remote session, use the person's current location to identify the appropriate local service. Stay connected when safe and feasible while assistance is arranged; seek a nearby responsible support person when appropriate. Do not promise secrecy, conduct a clinical risk assessment, physically intervene beyond your competence or wait for an Admin dashboard response.

Child or vulnerable-person abuse / exploitation

Do not investigate, interrogate or confront a suspected perpetrator. Listen without leading questions; preserve only necessary factual information and the person's words where relevant. Take immediate emergency action if needed. Follow applicable direct reporting duties and contact the designated NoTherapists safety lead promptly. Internal escalation is not a substitute for an external report and must never delay a legal deadline. Reporting duties vary by jurisdiction and professional status; record the local reporting contacts and reviewed procedure before a program launches.

Misconduct and serious disruption

For threats, harassment, sexual misconduct, targeted hate, dangerous behavior, severe intoxication-related disruption or repeated boundary violations, protect participants. Set a clear boundary when safe, remove the participant or end the activity if necessary, and document the actions. Do not require others to remain exposed to misconduct. The designated safety lead reviews suspension, follow-up and further action. Preserve relevant evidence securely and share only with authorized recipients or as legally required.

After the event

Notify the designated safety lead promptly through an agreed direct channel, then record a factual administrative incident: date/time, relevant activity, observed event, immediate actions, external contact/report reference and follow-up owner. Avoid diagnostic speculation or psychotherapy progress notes. Restrict access to authorized personnel. Review whether the activity or provider should be paused. Admin logging is not an emergency response system; the on-call contact and local reporting resources must be established before launch.
